welcome to kageyo a

Kageyo is a community that was created in 2006 from land that used to be part of Akagera National Park. The area was established to resettle Rwandan refugees who were forced to leave Tanzania. Our work in Kageyo A started in 2009, we are located close to Rwanda’s biggest national park, which is home to the big five animals. This area often has dry weather and drought, making farming difficult even though most people depend on agriculture for their living. Africa New Life Ministries has been working to support the people by providing food and clothing to refugees. In 2010, our student sponsorship program began in Kageyo. Today, we have made a major impact on the community.

We sponsor over 939 students in Kageyo, and by partnering with government schools we provide over 2,000 meals to students at G.S Rwisirabo school. Many of these students come from families who struggle to provide two meals a day. We have also built a well and water supply system that gives free clean water to everyone in this area. Through education sponsorship, many students have achieved their dreams. Our alumni include doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, and police officers.

When you visit our Kageyo community you will find a community of people full of hope for the future, a community that has grown from empty semi-desert land into a settled area with infrastructure and many people.
