welcome to kageyo a

The Kageyo community was created in 2006 from land that used to be part of Akagera National Park. The area was established to resettle Rwandan refugees who were forced to leave Tanzania. The community is located close to Rwanda’s biggest national park, which is home to the big five animals.

The area often has dry weather and drought, making farming difficult even though most people depend on agriculture for their living.

Africa New Life Ministries first helped the Kageyo community in 2009 by providing food and clothing to refugees. Student sponsorship programs began in 2010. Today, Africa New Life Ministries has a major impact on the community. The organization sponsors students and provides meals to over 2,000 students at G.S. Rwisirabo school. Many of these students come from families who struggle to provide two meals a day. The ministry also built a well and water supply system that gives free clean water to everyone in the area.

Through education sponsorship, many students have achieved their dreams. The community now has doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, and police officers who grew up with ministry support. The ministry also preaches the gospel, and many people have become Christians.

Our church in Kageyo A holds Sunday services from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and has several services during the week.

Those visiting Kageyo will see a community filled with hope for the future, a community that has grown from empty semi-desert land into a settled area with infrastructure and many people. Margret Mujawamariya works as the community coordinator, and Pastor James Mugisha leads the church. Contact Margret@africanewlife.org
